GENERAL
INFORMATION
GlobalTel is a division of InterActive Media Technologies, Inc., a
telecommunications services company, based in Boca Raton, Florida,
USA. GlobalTel has more than 130 offices in more than 95 countries
and serves customers in more than 200 countries. The telecom
services offered include Universal International Free Number (UIFN)
Direct Dial service, CallBack Service, GlobalTel USA 800 number
service - a US & Canada domestic service, CallMeBack Prepaid
Phone Cards for any country, and switching and carrier services
for resellers and phone card distributors.
GLOBALTEL
SERVICES
CallBack SERVICES. GLOBALTEL EXPORTS US DIALTONES AND LOW US
TELEPHONE RATES TO THE REST OF THE WORLD through its CallBack
services. International telephone rates are artificially high in
almost every country, except in the United States. Even with the
current trend toward the privatization of government owned
industries, many governments are still retaining control and are
imposing heavy taxes on the telephone industry in order to raise
cash. Many countries continue to forbid competition for telephone
service and are now interfering with and inhibiting the growth of
the Internet. GlobalTel capitalizes on the market created by these
artificially high rates, by exporting a US dial-tone, with low US
rates, to virtually every country. The service is available to all
GlobalTel customers.
DIRECT
DIAL SERVICES
GlobalTel customers in more than 60 countries, the
US & CANADA use direct dialing from any telephone at low us
rates. GlobalTel customers can now DIRECT DIAL FROM more than 60
countries TO any country by dialing through an in-country toll
free 800 number. The rates are LOW US RATES. For a few countries
the rate is a little higher than CallBack rates, but for others
THE RATE IS EVEN LOWER THAN CallBack RATES.
This
800 NUMBER DIRECT DIAL service was developed pursuant to
international telecom treaties and agreements between
participating countries and major carriers. This 800 number
service is known in the telecommunications industry as the
UNIVERSAL INTERNATIONAL FREE NUMBER service (UIFN). It is the
equivalent of the 1+800 service in North America which can be used
from any telephone in the country. The UIFN service is a global
telecom project of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
The ITU arranges, mediates and fosters negotiations between
governments and carriers. The goal is to establish DIRECT DIALING
from every country at low rates.
As
additional countries agree to the establishment of these numbers,
GlobalTel offers the service to its customers. It is not yet known
how many countries will permit the establishment of 800 number
direct dialing. Hopefully the revenue sharing arrangements will
generate enough revenue to make it attractive to most countries.
GlobalTel
is a true "e-commerce" company, in that over 90% of its
communications and transactions with its agents, customers and
suppliers are by, through and based upon the Internet. Agents and
customers enjoy online billing and customer service. GlobalTel
finds its new customers though the World Wide Web. GlobalTel
agents have websites designed so new customers can be informed and
apply for service. Customers pay their bills by international
credit cards and access current and past billing information
online through secure Internet pages.
GLOBALTEL'S
STAFF
GlobalTel is staffed with men and women from many countries with
high computer and Internet skills. The staff includes engineers,
accountants and lawyers, software writers, website builders,
people with advertising and marketing experience and others.
GlobalTel's staff members have completed thousands of hours of
computer training and seminar attendance over the past few years.
The Company has an ongoing program for continuing education and
training. A good cross training program is in place.
GLOBALTEL'S
WORLDWIDE NETWORK IS CONSTANTLY GROWING
GlobalTel's telecom network is being connected to the networks and
switches of additional carriers at a rapid pace. This creates
multiple options as to the rates to be charged and the quality of
service to be provided.
Today,
GlobalTel markets DIRECT DIAL SERVICES in over 60 countries,
including, the US & Canada, and the US territories of Puerto
Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam and Western Samoa. This number will
increase to 68 countries in the near future. Prior to 1999,
international CallBack service had been the core business of the
Company.
GlobalTel's
staff of software writers and computer engineers are constantly
improving and expanding existing systems and services. In addition
to the DIRECT DIAL SERVICES, GlobalTel continues to market
CallBack services, provides switching services for US domestic
phone cards, and markets phone cards to almost every country.
The
